Where We Are
We are currently in Grants, NM
Where it is 22 – ice-cold in the mornings and a comfy sunny in the afternoons.
Next: We are staying put through the holidays. Then we keep heading west! Love this small town on Route 66 – we certainly don’t need Google Maps to find the local grocery store. #rvlife
Winded and Stranded Off-Course
As we drove into Hawthorne, we spent the last 29 miles in a sand storm. We were trailing another RV and I noticed it was fish tailing a little. Sure enough, Steve was working hard to keep us upright on the road and in the middle of the lane. His hands were sweating so badly.
Don’t Make Me Read That
Know this, I’m an avid reader. Steve is the complete opposite. Unless the book ahs colorful pictures of food or recipes, he’s not likely to read it.
Missing Our Meetups
To be honest, I don’t know how to start off today’s entry. For the past bit of time, we’ve been racing around family functions and meetups. Now that’s all done for the next couple of months. In one way, I feel a bit depressed its all over, yet excited about the next six months of travel.
Family Double Dates
There are some family members that are easy to get along with, and some that take effort to prepare to be around and time to recover from. Fortunately, Aunt Corrine has always been very easy to get along with.
Bathrooms on Drive Days
Even though we pack things up for travel, things always move, or a cabinet flies open. I mean, the house is moving! In most cases, it’s just the refrigerator that needs attention. We stopped taking chances, and the items in it are always secured for road days. Except today, apparently.
Joys of Errands in a New Town
When you live in one place, you can quickly get into a routine of shopping the same stores that you know so well. You can probably build a map in your head of the entire layout. Those comforting routines do not exist in RV Life.
Post Wedding Dog Days
The romp around the park left them both sufficiently worn out to endure the 1 hour car ride to Aunt Lee’s house. They were to be her special guests of the day. Being that this would only be the second stranger’s house that they’d been in.
RV Drama Continues On Wedding Day
Last night’s wedding was an entertaining mix of beauty and humor. If I had to guess, the groom’s family hand selected the beautiful location that was full of old-school charm and exquisite taste.
Don’t Take Utilities for Granted
After taking the dogs to that GREAT dog park yesterday afternoon, we came back inside to wash up and get ready to bathe the dogs. But when we turned on the water – only air came out! No water. Just pressurized air. Oh No!
Overcast Skies And Family
I never thought today would come. March seemed to have lasted forever. It was so action packed that I have to catch my breath just thinking of it. At some point, I’ll have to catch you up as this blog missed most of the RV action, which prompted the blog to begin with.
